Haun and Luckert are creating Visceral Unrelenting Terror
Jeremy Haun understands what modern horror should be. Like few do. While artist Danny Luckert creates a visceral unrelenting terror that grips the reader by the throat. A terror that taps into the literal meaning of fear. With books like The Red Mother one can only hope the two of them never trade their craft for an evening of psychopathy.

Out through BOOM! Studios, The Red Mother #2 continues the story of puzzle and game inventor Daisy. Struggling to come to terms with the mysterious disappearance of her boyfriend Luke under strange and (perhaps?) supernatural circumstances.
An abduction that has left Daisy reeling with PTSD and a crushing sense of survivors guilt. After all, she was the one who survived that fateful night.
The Red Mother #2 deals with Trauma
Issue #2 of The Red Mother follows a futile attempt at Daisy’s healing process. A healing process amidst numerous visits to her therapist, pain killers and learning to deal with the unending hallucinations. Are they just that?
Without ripping out the spoiler filled entrails of the series’ second issue – The Red Mother #2 is where we start to learn more about the creature Daisy is invariably linked to. A creature whose sheer will is to break down any sense of sanity Daisy has left.
Fear Made Flesh
Writer Jeremy Haun creates a haunting world that echoes isolation. As the feelings of wanting a desperate conclusion wane out of every panel Daisy features on. While Danny Luckert’s art embellishes a creepy splash back. Where the lines of real and unreal continue to blur.
Part of me wants BOOM! Studios to create an unending supply of books just like this one. But we all know – it’s the diversity in their titles that keeps their heads above water.
What are you waiting for? Go pick up the second issue of The Red Mother. You raging maniacs!
