Something Is Killing The Children #16 Preview

Welcome back, fellow Something is Killing the Children fans (do we have an official group name, yet?). The conclusion of events at Archer’s Peak has left us wondering What’s next for this series? Well, BOOM! has graced us with a preview of issue 16 and we can confirm… Erica Slaughter origin story is in full effect!

While it’s probably impossible to top Werther Dell’Edera’s original badass Slaughter depictions, Jenny Frison, possibly best known for her Wonder Woman variants, really nails young Erica in her variant cover for the issue. She has all the makings of the very damaged woman we’ve come to love, but with fear and uncertainty in her eyes where we’re used to seeing determination and a touch of madness we know in our girl today.

Regarding the story, here’s what I’ve learned from sources close to the project (which sounds a lot more mysterious and cool than it really is):

” We will get the origin story of young Erica here, yes. But interwoven throughout, with the use of time jumps, is an all-new grown Erica adventure. This one is also pre-Archer’s Peak…”

So in effect we get TWO new chapters in the life of Ms. Slaughter and I. Can’t. WAIT! Are you as here for this as I am? And, WHERE IS OUR ERICA MERCH?! Entitled fandom aside, please produce and take all my money.
