1st Things We Know About Arrowverse’s Crisis
A Month Before Destruction
With the Arroverse’s take on Crisis on Infinite Earths over a month away, there is so much we know as well as so much we don’t. There are many things confirmed, while certain other information can be considered either speculation or to be kept in the dark until the five part crossover story actually airs.
What The Shows Are Doing
We do know that the five parts will be told through one episode for each of the five shows. The first part will be with Supergirl on December 8, then Batwoman the next day, The Flash the day after in the 10th until the holiday break before returning on January 14 with both Arrow and the finale with Legends of Tomorrow. While Arrow’s final season leads up to and focuses on the aftermath to the event and The Flash hints at it, Supergirl hasn’t mentioned it, Batwoman’s first few episodes are set before the Elseworlds story, and the next season of Legends of Tomorrow will premiere after Crisis. Even though Black Lightning won’t have an episode dedicated to the crossover, the title character will appear with Cress Williams reprising his role as the titular hero.
What’s Confirmed
Numerous characters are confirmed to appear, such as the Anti-Monitor with LaMonica Garrett playing the two different Monitors. Brandon Routh will not only return as Ray Palmer from Legends but will also reprise his role as Superman from the 2006 film, Superman Returns, while wearing a much darker Kingdom Come-inspired suit. Another version of Harrison Wells will appear with this one supposedly being the Arrowverse’s take on Pariah while Tom Cavanagh will possibly also portray the Reverse Flash, hinted at in the future newspaper article as shown throughout The Flash.
With Routh leaving in the next season of Legends Ryan Choi will be introduced, most likely as the next Atom. Diggle’s wife Lyla has been confirmed to be the Monitor’s assistant Harbinger. Jon Cryer’s take on Lex Luthor will return and Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch will return as the recent versions of Superman and Lois Lane.
Tom Welling and Erica Durance will come back from Smallville, though unknown how big their roles will be. John Wesley Shipp will once again portray the Jay Garrick version of Flash. Jonah Hex, who was introduced in Legends, will come back in some way. The Huntress from the early 2000s take of Birds of Prey will come back with Ashley Scott reprising her role. While Jim Corrigan is set to appear it is unknown if he will become or already is the Spectre. Regular Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy will appear as an older Batman but is not known from what universe he hails from, maybe from Earth One due to that version being missing.
What’s Unknown
There are still many things we do not know and some rumors that are still out there. Famous for playing Robin opposite Adam West’s Batman, Burt Ward will appear but it is not known if he will reprise his old role or someone completely different. Certain rumors have gotten around that Tom Ellis will reprise his role from the Fox then Netflix series Lucifer. Another rumor is that certain other DC shows and movies will be referenced, including the 1970s Wonder Woman because of Lynda Carter’s possible involvement and the 1989 Batman movie because of a newspaper shown in pictures relating to Crisis.
Regardless of what is true or not, there is no doubt Crisis on Infinite Earths will be epic.
