BOOM! Studios are a USA based Comic Book Studio with their Headquarters located in Los Angeles, California. Every month they release a constant stream of Comic Books and Graphic Novels. While some are creator owned, in recent years BOOM! Studios have been responsible for several Licensed Works of Comic Book Intellectual Property.
These include (but not limited to): Power Rangers, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Dark Crystal, Farscape, and many more.
BOOM! Studios releases are split across are four main imprints. There’s the Flagship Imprint or main brand BOOM! Studios. There’s KaBoom!, which was originally launched “BOOM! Kids,” and mainly targets All Ages. There’s BOOM! Box, which can best be described as an All Ages imprint targeting Kids and Adults. Finally, there’s BOOM! Town, which focuses on literary comics.
BOOM! Studios are arguably one of the largest Independent Comic Book Publisher in the World. A report on the Market share of Comic Book Studios placed BOOM! Studios at 2.56% of the North American Comic Book Marketplace. Just behind Dark Horse Studios which sat at 3.19%, which is secondary only to Marvel and DC Comics.
