[NEWS] Former Cheez TV Hosts Jade & Ryan Announce Web Series Thanks To Patreon
There’s two things that Australian kids of the nineties and early 00s remember vividly: Agro’s Cartoon Connection (shudder) and then there’s Cheez TV.
Every weekday kids all over Australia would tune into the affably named Cheez TV at 7am EST. This 90 minute cartoon megathon introduced an entire generation to the likes of X-Men, Dragonball Z, Pokémon, Beyblade, Biker Mice From Mars. The list goes on. This cartoon variety hour (and a half) show was hosted by the lovable larrikin duo of Jade Gatt and Ryan Lappin. Like the man said, nothing lasts forever.
CheezTV came to a screeching halt with its cancellation in 2004. This led to the boys Jade and Ryan going their separate ways. Free to pursue their own endeavours. More than a decade later they would team up with Simpson podcast, “Four Finger Discount” creator Brendan Dando to launch the CheezTV Facebook page.
With this article I can confirm Jade and Ryan will launch their own web series aptly title “Jade and Ryan.” Designed as a day-starter, the web show will air three days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) starting at a quaint 7:30am. Each episode will run for five to ten minutes.
The original idea for the series was born after the dynamic duo teamed up with Adrian Davis of Sydney-based media company, StartWebcast.com.
“From the First meeting with Jade and Ryan it was clear that who they portrayed in TV was exactly who they were off-screen, and to think they still have such a dynamic and unique chemistry after being off the air for over a decade, it’s both incredible as it is exciting,” says Davis.
The series will be crowd financed via their Patreon page which is up now : just hit this LINK.
