What Josiah Saw
Shudder have released a brand new trailer to promote the upcoming Shudder Original, What Josiah Saw. Due out on the Shudder streaming platform on August 4, 2022, What Josiah Saw is about a damaged family who reunites (after two decades) at their remote farmhouse, where they confront long-buried secrets and sins of the past. The film, written by Robert Alan Dilts, stars Robert Patrick (Terminator 2) plays “Josiah Graham”, Nick Stahl (Sin City) plays “Eli Graham”, Scott Haze (Child of God) plays “Thomas Graham” and Kelli Garner (Lars and The Real Girl) plays “Mary Milner”.
While you can’t tell much from the trailer, what we can tell is that the film seems to be set amongst the backdrop of a mother committing suicide and then follows the husband and father of the Graham’s, Josiah, and his descent into madness. The trailer is gripping and filled with psychological horror at every turn. Roger Ebert called it “Unsettling and Dangerous.” The trailer sure made me tense after the first viewing.
What Josiah Saw the third feature from American filmmaker Vincent Grashaw (Coldwater, And Then I Go) and world premiered to high praise at the 2021 Fantasia Film Festival and went on to win awards at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, Fantasia International Fantastic Film Festival, Screamfest, and more.
