[NEWS] Matt Groening Animated Show “Disenchantment” Lands On Netflix

Matt Groening lands his first new show on TV in almost 20 years.

Following ice cold on the heels of Futurama, which debuted March 28, 1999 on 20th Century Fox. Disenchantment lands on Netflix land this August the 17th. EDIT: Not technically on TV.

Twenty episodes of Disenchantment has been ordered for production by the evil overlords of Netflix with the first ten to air this year. If a picture paints a thousand words (and if your IQ hits the high sixties), it’s not hard to figure out Disenchantment’s fantasy world is going to be satirised til the elves come home. The series’ premise follows Bean, an alcoholic princess, her elf companion Elfo, and her “personal demon” Luci, who live in a medieval kingdom called Beanlandia. Clever.

Abbi Jacobson (Broad City) as Princess Bean, Nat Faxon (Married) as Elfo and Eric Andre (Man Seeking Woman) as Luci. With Futurama alumni John DiMaggio and Billy West returning to lend their talents in Disenchantment.
