About Pyre
Pyre is a psychological horror meets superhero comic book. It’s written by Rob M MacDonald, art by Annie Andrade, coloring by Linda Campbell, lettering by Nikki Power and editing by Kirsten Murray.
Pyre Synopsis
At its core, Pyre is about abusive relationships and how we can be eroded by someone else’s actions. Although it exists in a superhero world, it is not a story about powers. It is a story about how the horrific actions of one man can impact the lives of a multitude of people.
Norah is a street-level vigilante who has been engaged in a long and complicated feud with RICTUS, a demented killer who has tormented and haunted the city. Our story appears to begin at an end: with the murder of Rictus.
What follows is a descent into psychological horror as Norah must process all the emotions she has held tightly onto during the years of trauma and abuse. Sleep-deprived, malnourished and falling into a psychotic break, we follow her as she struggles to come to terms with herself and the world around her.
Who is Pyre Perfect For?
Target audience is mature readers looking for a character-driven, slow-burning horror. It’s meant to be sophisticated and socially conscious.
