The first season of She Hulk is about The Hulk’s cousin, Jennifer Walters, who exchanges blood with her cousin, Bruce Banner, after they’re both in a car crash. Due to Bruce’s radioactive blood getting into an open wound of Jen’s, this results in Jennifer taking on characteristics similar to that of The Hulk.

Much of Season 1 of She Hulk is about Jen learning to balance her newfound abilities with that of her career as a lawyer. This takes all sorts of twists and turns with her firstly starting an ongoing feud with business woman and fellow altered human, Titania, then joining a new law firm and taking on cases which are specifically related to super humans, super villains or those with extraordinary abilities.

By the end of the season, She Hulk faces off against a She Hulk hate club run by misogynistic billionaire Todd Phelps, makes friends with Abomination, finally shuts Titania up amid a wedding brawl and has sex with Daredevil. But we have to ask ourselves how does the She Hulk trailer stack up when compared to this nonstop adventure wheel that is She Hulk?

What happens in the She Hulk trailer?

At the start of the She Hulk trailer, Jen is woken up by Bruce using an airhorn, instantly transforming Jen into her She Hulk form in a bid to demonstrate just how not in control of her hulk abilities that Jen is. What follows is a rigorous routine of training in order for Jen to get her Hulk powers under control and Jen then somehow managing to convince Bruce that heading back to her life of being a lawyer is the best thing for her.

What follows in the trailer is Jen becoming the face of a brand new division of law firm Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg and Holliway (GLK&H) which handles clients with superhero level abilities. Unfortunately for her, this also means defending clients like Abomination – who tried to kill her cousin, Bruce. This is quickly followed up with briefly alluding to a fight with Titania and Wong appearing through a portal to enlist Jen’s assistance in a case.

With the trailer closing on Jen being conflicted between using her Hulk abilities for good versus doing things by the book as a lawyer. Not to mention beating up bad guys, attending an intervention and Bruce admitting that he thinks he’s jealous.

All in all, a solid Marvel Cinematic Universe trailer complete with loud dramatic action music.

The She Hulk trailer does a great job at giving a taste test on what 8 episodes of the She Hulk tv show has in store for you, the viewer. From giving us snippets on the key highlights including Titania, Abomination and interdimensional Gargoyles, the She Hulk trailer hits all the right notes.

What it does so successfully is by keeping to itself any spoilers that would’ve ruined the fan service plot points. Such as the appearance of Daredevil or why Abomination really needs Jennifer Walter’s help. Not to mention, the tidbits of Jen tapping her ability of breaking the fourth wall. An ability which she tapped into a lot during the Sensational She Hulk comic book run of the 1980s.

The She Hulk trailer stacks up quite well and doesn’t give you any preconceived notions of the show being better than the end result. Unless, if the fact that Jen Walters is a lawyer and this show is about a lawyer, isn’t clear enough for you.
