The comic book publishing industry is hard enough on independent publishers. With the pitfalls of paying for writers, pencillers, inkers, and colourists. Putting your comic book out there for critical review from your fanbase. All with the purpose of wondering whether or not it will sell. Despite all odds, Blue Juice Comics had successfully navigated these murky waters. Until now.
Earlier today, Blue Juice Comics’ Editor-In-Chief Tom Mumme confirmed that Anne Bonnie writer/colorist Tim Yates had been arrested for distribution of child pornography. Mumme’s comments, via facebook, had the following to say:
Blue Juice Comics intends to soldier on and has done the right thing by quickly addressing this recent development. How this will effect the outcome of future ANNE BONNIE issues is, for the moment, unknown. Regardless, it’s a sad day for an otherwise successful independent comic book publishing house.
Blue Juice Comics is the publisher of published comic books such as THE ACCELERATORS, AETHER & EMPIRE, ANNE BONNIE, DUDLEY AND THE TOY KEEPER’S CHEST and GROWING DARK.
