About Blade Runner 2039

Blade Runner 2039 Issue 1 follows on from the previous Blade Runner 2019 comic book series.

Set in 2039, it’s been three years since Niander Wallace introduced his brand of ‘perfectly obedient’ Replicants, and the ban on synthetic humans has been lifted, at least for the new Wallace models―the older Tyrell Corp’s Nexus 8 units are still hunted by Blade Runners.

Cleo Selwyn, first seen as a small child in Blade Runner 2019, has returned to L.A. some twenty years later, searching for Isobel, a Replicant copy of her real mother who died when she was three. Cleo believes that Niander Wallace is holding Isobel captive, and the only person she can call on for help is the one who saved her so many years ago: Aahna ‘Ash’ Ashina, now an aging and disgraced ex-Blade Runner.

Blade Runner: 2039 is created by writers Mike Johnson and Mellow Brown. With artist Andres Guinaldo and colorist Marco Lesko handling the art. It’s published by Titan Comics and the first issue comes in at a whopping 32 full colour pages. It’s on-sale now.

Blade Runner 2039 – Trailer Reaction

This Titan Comics trailer truly embodies the look and feel of the initial films. With its use of dark beats that swing between old school techno, light dubstep and modern ambience, you will be immersed by the look and feel of the pages that the trailer teases.

While not spoiling too much, the trailer moves to the beat of the soundtrack and gives a sense of nonstop cyberpunk action. Titan Comics haven’t pulled any punches in the creation and development of a trailer that is true to the lore and storytelling that Hampton Fancher and David Peoples conceived with that original screenplay.
