My fellow brunettes – it is our time to shine! Want some easy to cosplay characters with your natural hair color – no wig required? Say no more! Here’s 31 of the Best Brown Haired Characters – and maybe a few baddies, just to even things out.
Uraraka – My Hero Academia
Easily one of my favorite anime girls, and one of the best girls on this list in general, Uraraka is a sweetheart and a fierce hero when she needs to be, using her quirk “Float” to help those in need. Plus, she’s main character Deku’s crush, which is pretty adorable.
Mori – God of High School
One of the main trio, and essentially the main character of the show, Jin Mori is a gifted fighter, a positive, smiling friend, and radiates that heroic main character energy. He’s more than meets the eye, with a past that unveils as the show plays out.
Yuki – Future Diary
Main protagonist, possessor of the random diary, and object of (pretty unhealthy) affection from Yuna – Yuki’s life really gets turned upside down when he comes into possession of a future diary. Combine that with another diary user being a yandere obsessed with him, and things get really complicated.

Mugen – Samurai Champloo
A skilled fighter, rude, and even a bit on the vulgar side, Mugen is one of the main characters in Samurai Champloo. He, along with his personality opposite Jin, are accompanying Fuu on her mission to find the samurai that smells of sunflowers.
Mayu – Death Parade
A devoted fan girl, even when the fate of her soul is on the line, Mayu is more devoted to the idol group C.H.A. and, more specifically Harada, than her own self. Her devotion causes a dilemma for her arbiter when deciding whether she or Harada deserves the void, and which deserves reincarnation.
Light – Death Note
The main character, and kid with a serious god complex, Light is also known as Kira – a serial killer with a death note. With his death note, he can write the names of anyone he has seen the face of, and knows their name, and they’ll die however he chooses. This becomes a worldwide problem, and the majority of the series is spent watching Light try to wiggle his way out of messes. Luckily for Light – he’s brilliant.
Sango – InuYasha
One of the main characters of the show, Sango is a demon slayer that travels with InuYasha and his group. Like the others, her life has been destroyed by Naraku, and she wants to help stop him. The only remaining member of her family, her younger brother Kohaku, is being used as a puppet for Naraku thanks to a fragment of the sacred jewel. Unfortunately, Sango must figure out a way to free her brother without letting him die, since the jewel shard is keeping him alive.
Kuga – Food Wars!
A member of the elite council of ten, Kuga is a chef and student that excels in Chinese cuisine. He starts out at odds with Soma, the main character, who wants to take his seat on the council. But eventually the two become allies, and even friends.
Kaiba – Yu-Gi-Oh!
The CEO of his own company – specifically, the company that developed the virtual reality dueling game, Seto Kaiba is fueled by a drive to be the greatest. He’s the ruthless rival to Yugi, the main character.
Asahina – Danganronpa
The Ultimate Swimmer, or Super High School-level Swimmer – whichever you prefer, Hina is one of the most consistently likable characters in Danganronpa. She’s a loyal friend, caring, and wants to believe in her classmates ability to overcome their situation.

Tatsumi – Akame Ga Kill
Main protagonist of the show, Tatsumi is a fighter driven to make money for his village, as well as a name for himself. He has a good heart, fights against evil, and, oddly enough, eventually turns into a dragon. Do with that information what you will.
Dazai – Bungo Stray Dogs
Fan favorite of many – myself included, Osamu Dazai (named after a Japanese novelist), Dazai is a member of the Armed Detective Agency, as well as a former leader of the Port Mafia. He’s plagued by loneliness and seems to dwell constantly within the darkness of his own mind. His ability, No Longer Human, is used by contacting another’s skin and nullifying their abilities.
Eren Yeager/Jaeger – Attack on the Titan
We’ll stick to early on stuff about Eren for spoilers sake. Eren is the main character, a member of the Scout Regiment, oh – and he’s an intelligent Titan. He witnessed his mother being murdered and eaten by a titan at a very young age, which drove him to want to fight and kill as many as possible.
Takehisa Hinawa – Fire Force
A second generation ability user and the company commander of the 8th Special Fire Brigade, Hinawa is almost always stern, bordering perpetually cranky, and doesn’t like to goof off. He’s very serious, a strong leader, and looks more intimidating that he probably is.
Rei Batsubami – Kakegurui
Maybe skip this one if you want to avoid show spoilers! Rei’s family was banished from their clan by the Momobami family, so she posed as a male and acted as a servant to other members of their clan during their time staying at Hyakkaou Private Academy, competing for who will take over the school. After being accepted back into the Hundred Devouring Families, she presents herself as female.
Megumin – Konosuba
Cute, an Arch Wizard of the Crimson Demon Clan, and the first member to join Kasuma, Megumin is one of the main characters of the show. She’s very straightforward, intelligent, and even aggressive when she feels like someone is challenging her. But she’s also hyper and cheerful.
Setsuna – Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon
Cold hearted, half-demon, and the younger twin sister to Towa Higurashi, Setsuna is the daughter of Sesshomaru and Rin. She lives in the feudal era of Japan, while her sister was raised in modern day Japan.

Isami Aldini – Food Wars!
The Aldini brothers are really a treasure in Food Wars. They work together seamlessly, and while everyone usually focuses on his brother and his rivalry with Soma, Isami is still his rock in the background, keeping his brother level-headed. He’s much calmer of the two, and extremely likeable.
San – Princess Mononoke
Princess Mononoke, the “Wolf Girl”, and one of the main characters of this treasured classic, San was raised by wolves. She looks and behaves similarly to the wolves, and is also the Princess of the Wolf Gods. She loves nature, and grew to dislike humans because of what they have done to the forest.
Mai Taniyama – Ghost Hunt
Part time employee of the Shibuya Psychic Research, and main protagonist of the series, Mai is a compassionate character that enjoys her work. She enjoys the adventure of ghosts, is a tad bit impulsive, and very brave.
Hange Zoe – Attack on Titan
Hange is a commander of the Scout Regiment, a titan researcher, and scientist. They’re fascinated by Eren and his ability to transform into a titan. Hange is energetic, but can keep themselves composed if needed in difficult situations.
Kiba – Naruto
Member of the Inuzuka clan, Kiba is a supporting character in Naruto. For people like myself that get hyper fixated on random cute animals – he’s the guy that has the cute dog companion, Akamaru. He dreams of becoming Hokage – just like Naruto and many others in the show do.
Makoto Naegi – Danganronpa
The embodiment of Hope itself, and the only one strong enough to really duke it out with the embodiment of Despair – Makoto is one of the best boys in anime. He’s loyal, intelligent, resilient, and – of course – full of hope when things look bleak.
Yuma Isogai – Assassination Classroom
Since we’re already talking about one of my favorite anime guys, let’s talk about one of the most lovable characters in Assassination Classroom – Isogai. It makes sense he’s class representative – he’s kind, caring, loyal, and it’s hard not to like him. He works hard, not only in class but outside of it, because his family needs the extra help and support.
Joseph – JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
The second of the Joestars in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures, and the main protagonist of part two, Joseph is the owner of the Hermit Purple stand. He’s a muscular dude – as most are ridiculously ripped in this show – and the grandfather of Jotaro.
Shippo – InuYasha
Shippo is a young, orphaned fox demon that travels with InuYasha, Kagome, and the rest, battling Naraku and any demons they come across. While Shippo isn’t the most useful member during some of the bigger fights, he pulls his weight when he can.
Chihiro Ogino – Spirited Away
Chihiro is a 10 year old with some rotten luck. What her parents believe is an abandoned amusement park leads to them turning into pigs, and young Chihiro having to work at a resort for supernatural entities in order to gain her freedom, as well as her parents.
William T. Spears – Black Butler
Will is a Grim Reaper that just does not care for everyone’s favorite demonic butler – Sebastian. I debated his hair color being dark brown or black – and the internet seemed conflicted as well. So, for the sake of scoring a character from Black Butler – we’ll side with dark brown.
Shinichi Kudo – Detective Conan
We’re going to pull one from way back for you. In the English versions, he’s known sometimes as Jimmy Kudo. He’s the main character and a high school detective. Oh, and he’s given some sort of poison that shrinks him back to the size he was in first grade. When this happens, he makes up an alias – Conan – that he uses to try uncovering the organization responsible for shrinking his body.
Toru Oikawa – Haikyuu!!
Captain of Aoba Johsai’s volleyball team, an ace setter, and a third year student, Toru is the main antagonist of a couple of arcs. He’s a flirt, since he’s widely regarded as handsome, but he’s also incredibly smug and childish. Despite that, he can be caring, but mostly focuses on his own ambitions.
Satoshi Isshiki – Food Wars!
One of the most immediately odd characters you encounter in Food Wars because he rarely wants to wear clothing, Isshiki is a fan favorite to many, with his charming personality. He’s a member of the ten, and focuses on Japanese cooking. He’s a friend and dorm mate to main character, Soma.
