Maybe it is due to their immortality and beauty that keep us entranced. Or, probably given their historical status and undying nature, there are no limits to using them in a story.

1. American Vampire
Scott Snyder and Rafael Albuquerque’s American Vampire is a horror comic that tells the history of America through the journey of its immortal characters. Though touching, gory, and violent, American Vampire generally has it all for horror fans. With every skip in time, you will constantly see how our protagonists try to adapt and change to fit in – or, in many cases, don’t.
2. The Tomb of Dracula
The famous vampire is Dracula, and its existence has led to a few different versions of the character for many years. The Tomb of Dracula is Marvel’s story to follow their version’s exploits across the Marvel universe as he fought against vampire hunters, supernatural threats, and other Marvel characters.
Dracula has evolved for so many years and has retained his legendary presence as the powerful king of vampires who can hold his own against mutants and super-soldiers.
3. Morbius
Morbius is one of the first monstrous characters Marvel introduced after the Comics Code Authority released some of the restrictions on monsters. 30 Days of Night is another classic vampire comic that sees through a small town in Alaska that goes dark for a month once a year; a group of vampires move in and get to work doing what they do best. Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith’s original comic book has been adapted into a series of films, many sequels, and spin-off comics. The original still stands as a juggernaut of the genre.

5. A Human Resistance
Vampires overtook the earth following a nuclear war that sent humanity’s elite to the stars. The skies were darkened, and vampires had spent years evolving in complete nuclear darkness to increase their threat. They reached new technological levels and attempted to follow humanity to the stars to launch another bloody war.
6. Bleed Them Dry
Bleed Them Dry takes vampires to the far-flung future of the year 3333. In a Japanese-engineered mega-city called Asylum, a small population of vampires lives alongside humans, who have grown to accept the presence of Immortals in their world. However, other vampire murders drag a young detective, Harper Halloway, into a bloodcurdling mystery about the truth of humanity’s future. With the Japanese-inspired setting, there’s also a healthy dose of ninja action in this Blade Runner-esque cyberpunk dystopia.
7. Vampironica
Greg Smallwood’s Vampironica is a grisly, gruesome vampiric take on the iconic, much-loved, and wholesome Archie universe. The comic follows Veronica, a vampire who feeds on Riverdale residents. However, after contending with whether to feed off her friends, she becomes a protector fending off other bloodsuckers as she tries to figure out her curse.
8: Vampire: The Masquerade
Written by Tim Seeley and Tini Howard and published by Vault Comics, Vampire: The Masquerade is a comic story full of shocking twists and turns and backstabbing aplenty. This book will leave readers turning the pages as fast as possible to find out what happens next. The comic revels in political intrigue as Cecily Bain, the “dirty boot” of the Twin Cities Camarilla, contend with warring factions, human hunters, and eventually a crossover with the lupine clans of Werewolf: The Apocalypse. Again, the running B-plot follows a group of Anarchs, or vampires, who reject the rules of their society.
9. Preacher (Vertigo)
Preacher is known for its biting satire and semi-blasphemous supernatural elements. The comic follows a small-town preacher, Jesse Custer, who is possessed by an entity called Genesis. The holy man must travel across America searching for God, who has abandoned heaven. On his journey, he reunites with an old flame named Tulip O’Hare and meets an alcoholic Irish vampire named Cassidy. Again, Cassidy’s ferocity and quick temper were often seen when he let his usually aloof demeanor slip, making him a dangerous enemy. This comic is packed with many demons and other monster types to enjoy.

10. Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Buffy The Vampire Slayer is a continuation of its T.V. series. The comic follows the subsequent adventures of The Scooby Gang as they battle against the dark forces of the world. Joss Whedon wrote this comic.
11. Sacred Six
In Sacred Six, a spin-off book from Christopher Priest’s continuing Vampirella series for Dynamite, the most recognizable members of the Vampi supporting cast—Vampirella, Draculina, Nyx, Pantha, Chastity, and Lilith—join forces. It is as politically fraught as it is impossible to put down, following their exploits as they fight against the pious, intolerant city of Sacred.
12. Baron Blood
Baron Blood is about an evil Marvel vampire who allied with the Nazis during World War 2. In the Marvel universe, a few other vampires might be regarded as horrifying. Still, the creature known as Baron Blood has an additional characteristic that makes him much scarier: he’s a Nazi. To locate a new power source, Lord John Falsworth sought Dracula’s castle, which ultimately caused him to turn into a vampire.
Falsworth, who served as Baron Blood during World War I and the Nazi Party during World War II, was brought back to conquer England in Dracula’s name. Over the years, despite appearing to have died numerous times, the immortal Nazi vampire has persisted in posing a menace to the Marvel universe.

Must be simple, right?
As Garlic visits the castle to meet the enigmatic vampire, this humorous fable encourages readers to find courage in the face of fear. Garlic and the Vampire abandons the typical somber, gothic ambiance of the genre and instead is vibrant and colorful, full of the natural splendor of a vegetable village and the surrounding woodlands.

14. Angel + Spike
Angel and Spike are still popular examples of swoon-worthy vampires in mainstream culture. They’ve appeared in several self-titled comics. Whether you’re a Spuffy or Bangel fan, don’t miss BOOM! Studios’ B.T.V.S. reboot.
Angel + Spike is a four-volume adventure into Los Angeles’ underbelly. While some famous faces (including Fred Burkle, Charles Gunn, and Lilah Morgan) are present, this new, modernized continuity transforms the game in unanticipated ways.
It’s a 16-issue supernatural detective series that stands out among contemporary Buffy products.
15. Batman & Dracula
DC has its version of Dracula, and an Elseworlds story called Batman & Dracula: Red Rain brought the lord of vampires to Gotham City. Batman partnered with renegade vampire Tanya, who slowly bit and turned him to fight Dracula.
Batman overcame Dracula, but he succumbed to bloodlust and began killing and feeding on his enemies, becoming the monster he’d spent a lifetime battling. In Bloodstorm and Crimson Mist, his comrades betrayed him.
16. Sea of Red
Salgood, Remender, and Dwyer Sam’s Sea of Red features a shipwrecked 16th-century sailor named Marco Esperanza. The Black Galleon turned out to be a pirate ship crewed by undead vampires.
Esperanza was bitten during the Galleon’s raid on another ship and abandoned at sea. Esperanza returned years later, led by Captain Lesser Blackfoot, to seek revenge on the vampires that changed him and tortured him forever.
17. B.P.R.D.: Vampire
A B.P.R.D. agent, plagued by a vampire, goes on the rampage in pursuit of an undead family and their gorgon-eyed queen in this comic book.
The 2018 Hellboy Winter Special’s new short story is included in this revised edition along with a new introduction by Bá and Moon, the original five-issue series, and the sketchbook section.
