WOLVERINE: THE LONG NIGHT follows a string of mysterious deaths in Burns, Alaska. Special agents and chief protagonists Sally Pierce and Tad Marshall arrive to investigate. They find there’s more going on than meets the eye.
This 100% scripted podcast is a first from Marvel. Staring Celia Keenan-Bolger and Ato Essandoh as Agents Pierce and Marshall, with Richard Armitage as Wolverine. Additionally voices provided by Scott Adsit, Bob Balaban, Zoe Chao, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, and Brian Stokes Mitchell.
Logan is the main suspect in the string of mysterious deaths. The agents will uncover Logan’s dual identity and the corruption in the small town. Logan is attempting to escape from society and over the course of the series will uncover some of his lost memories. He is, however, drawn to dish out “frontier justice.” Meanwhile, the Aurora Cult is located nearby who may or may not be somehow involved in the over arching mystery.
Me racing to download WOLVERINE THE LONG NIGHT:
Aptly titled “A Thousand Ways to Die in Alaska”, Chapter 1 of WOLVERINE: THE LONG NIGHT is a perfect uncomfortable meeting of tension meets suspense. The X-movies could learn a lot from this podcast episode alone. This is an extension of the Wolverine-verse complete with brand new characters caught in this adamantium laced horror story. With nothing else to rely on other than voice acting and a cleverly mastered soundtrack. This mix of accurately placed FX and pacing of the voice actors adds a greater depth to the story. A depth that echoes the isolation Alaska is famous for. If there’s one thing that pairs famously well with isolation – it’s Wolverine’s berzerker rage.
You will find little Wolverine in this episode and that’s alright. There is plenty of room to form attachments to Agents Pierce and Marshall. A decision to be applauded. Writer Ben Percy has since teased WOLVERINE: THE LONG NIGHT to merely be the start of what could soon be an interconnected “Marvel Podcast Universe.”
WOLVERINE: THE LONG NIGHT is out now and widely available from ALL major podcast outlets. But for those who want to binge the entire series, head to Stitcher or WolverinePodcast.com. Click here for more info. 6 Sodas!
