FX Pulls The Pin And Cancels Deadpool Animated Series
Deadpool fans have been left royally butt hurt this week as I can report that Donald Glover, Stephen Glover, Marvel and FX have parted ways on the Deadpool Animated Series project.
Deadpool fans worldwide rejoiced last year when Donald Glover a.k.a Childish Gambino confirmed he was working on a Deadpool cartoon in conjunction with Marvel. This original series was to premiere on FXX but is now dead and buried with no healing factor in sight. The age old rhetoric of ‘creative differences’ has been thrown around the FX executive camp via Deadline.com:
“Due to creative differences, FX, Donald Glover, Stephen Glover and Marvel Television have agreed to part ways on Marvel’s ‘Deadpool’ animated series, FX will no longer be involved with the project,” FX said. “FX and Marvel have an ongoing relationship through our partnership on ‘Legion,’ which will continue.
The FX/Marvel relationship will continue, however, with the second season of Legion set to premiere April 3, 2018.
